Skill Marketplace
Browse, install, and publish skills to extend your AI agent's capabilities
The Skill Marketplace is where you discover and manage skills for your Claw Buff agent. Skills are structured prompt documents (SKILL.md) that teach your agent how to perform specific tasks — from GitHub workflows to smart home control.
What's a Skill?
A skill is not code. It's a prompt document with metadata that gets loaded into your agent's context, teaching it how to use its existing tools for a specific purpose.
| Component | Purpose |
|---|---|
| SKILL.md | Instructions that teach the agent a workflow |
| Metadata | Name, category, tags, version, author |
| Scripts | Optional JS/TS files for advanced behaviors |
| Environment variables | API keys or credentials the skill needs |
Skills are built on OpenClaw's skill system. For a deeper understanding of how Skills, Tools, and Plugins relate, see Skills & Plugins.
Skill Sources
Skills in the marketplace come from three sources:
- ClawHub — Community skills synced from the ClawHub ecosystem. Curated top 50 by install count.
- User-published — Skills created and published by Claw Buff users like you.
- System — Official skills maintained by the Claw Buff team.
How It Works
Browse
Explore the Skill Marketplace to find skills by category, keyword search, or popularity. Categories include Development, Productivity, Communication, Media, Smart Home, and more.
Install
Click Install on any skill card to add it to your agent. The skill files are deployed directly to your agent's container.
Configure
Some skills require API keys or credentials. After installing, go to the Console's Agent > Skills section to configure any required environment variables.
Use
Start chatting with your agent — it now knows how to perform the skill's workflows. Skills use progressive disclosure, loading only when relevant to the conversation.
Managing Installed Skills
Once installed, skills appear in your Console under Agent > Skills. From there you can:
- Enable/Disable — Toggle skills on or off without uninstalling
- Configure — Set required API keys and environment variables
- Uninstall — Remove the skill from your agent's container
Next Steps
